Voting Ends for Pumpkin Decorating Contest
Today is the last day to stop into the Library to cast your vote! We have so many cool book and character pumpkins created by patrons of all ages!
All pumpkin entries are displayed in the Children's Room and can be voted on from October 15th to the 29th. You may vote ONCE! Winners will be announced via social media on Halloween!!
ONE winner* per age group will be selected for each of the following categories:
- Best Representation of Book/Character
- Best Use of Materials
- Most Memorable
- Staff Favorite

Miss Melissa is the Children's Librarian at the Woodward Memorial Library and enjoys working with patrons of all ages! She started at WML as a Library Assistant in July 2018, but has worked at a number of libraries in Genesee county since 2014. Miss Melissa received her Bachelor's in Child and Family Studies from SUNY Oneonta in 2013 and completed her Master's in Library Science at the University of Syracuse in 2023. At WML she leads library programs of all types, including storytimes, after-school programs, take-home kits, and adult crafts. She loves hearing your program ideas and making them a reality!
Miss Melissa loves to read mysteries, romance, fantasy, and thrillers, and her favorite adult authors are Mary Kubica, Emily Henry, Jodi Picoult, Sally Hepworth, and Christina Lauren. Her favorite children's authors are Todd Parr, Eric Carle, Lucy Cousins, and Lemony Snicket, while her favorite young adult authors are Sarah Dessen, Jennifer Niven, and Maureen Johnson.
