Creative Writing Club In-Person
Join Sandy Whiting from Wolcott Street School to learn about different styles of writing. Create your own poems and stories using a number of fun exercises. Each participant will receive a journal to use for the remaining sessions this school year! Opportunities to share your writing with the group will be provided. Grades 3rd - 6th. Please register!
PLEASE NOTE: Parents/guardians must write a note to the school on Library program days, dismissing students to the Library, otherwise kids will be dismissed from school as usual (i.e. to the bus or parent pickup). All after school programs last 1 hour unless listed otherwise. Students may bring a snack to eat before the program begins.

Event Organizer
Miss Melissa is the Children's Librarian at the Woodward Memorial Library and enjoys working with patrons of all ages! She started at WML as a Library Assistant in July 2018, but has worked at a number of libraries in Genesee county since 2014. Miss Melissa received her Bachelor's in Child and Family Studies from SUNY Oneonta in 2013 and recently completed her Master's in Library Science at the University of Syracuse. At WML she leads library programs of all types, including storytimes, after-school programs, take-home kits, and adult crafts. She loves hearing your program ideas and making them a reality!
Miss Melissa loves to read mysteries, romance, fantasy, and thrillers, and her favorite adult authors are Mary Kubica, Emily Henry, Jodi Picoult, Sally Hepworth, and Christina Lauren. Her favorite children's authors are Todd Parr, Eric Carle, Lucy Cousins, and Lemony Snicket, while her favorite young adult authors are John Green and Maureen Johnson.
