K-1st Adventure Club

K-1st Adventure Club In-Person

K-1st graders join Miss Melissa every Wednesday at 2:30 PM as we explore all types of adventures! We will have different activities based on the week’s theme, from crafts, to games, to science experiments! (All summer programs go by the grade that your child will be starting in the fall.) Please register for each week separately.

WEEKLY THEMES: 

Wednesday, August 14th: Historical Adventure -  A special guest from Cornell Cooperative Extension will teach us how to make butter, then we can taste it! We’ll also be making some beeswax candles.

Melissa Levins

Miss Melissa is the Children's Librarian at the Woodward Memorial Library and enjoys working with patrons of all ages! She started at WML as a Library Assistant in July 2018, but has worked at a number of libraries in Genesee county since 2014. Miss Melissa received her Bachelor's in Child and Family Studies from SUNY Oneonta in 2013 and recently completed her Master's in Library Science at the University of Syracuse. At WML she leads library programs of all types, including storytimes, after-school programs, take-home kits, and adult crafts. She loves hearing your program ideas and making them a reality! 

 

Miss Melissa loves to read mysteries, romance, fantasy, and thrillers, and her favorite adult authors are Mary Kubica, Emily Henry, Jodi Picoult, Sally Hepworth, and Christina Lauren. Her favorite children's authors are Todd Parr, Eric Carle, Lucy Cousins, and Lemony Snicket, while her favorite young adult authors are John Green and Maureen Johnson.
