2nd-4th Adventure Club In-Person
2nd-4th graders join Miss Sara every Tuesday at 10:15 AM as we explore all types of adventures! We will have different activities based on the week’s theme, from crafts, to games, to science experiments! (All summer programs go by the grade that your child will be starting in the fall.) Please register for each week separately.
WEEKLY THEMES:
Tuesday, August 6th: Sci-fi/Space Adventure - STEAM DIY Space Rocket. What better way to celebrate space adventure week than by creating our own rockets and seeing how high they will fly!
Tuesday, August 13th: Historical Adventure - Butter & Beeswax Candles. Special guest Celina Bartz from Cornell Cooperative Extension will teach us how to make butter, then we can taste it! Then, we will make beeswax candles. Before the days of electricity people needed candles to light their houses at night. We will be creating candles a little bit differently and much more creatively!
Please note: If your child is attending STEAM Club at the school, these programs have been scheduled so that they can come to the library right after. For your convenience, we will notify Mrs. Tran (school librarian) of which kids will be attending the library program. On the days of our programs a Library staff member will pick up these students at the Library's back door at the time of STEAM Club dismissal (10:00am). Students may bring a snack to eat before the Library program begins.
